Schedule For DCI Competition

If you are attending the DCI show with the guard, please click on the link below for the schedule for this Thursday. If you have not signed up to go and you would like to, you can order tickets from DCI.org. This schedule is only for those previous members that signed up to go and paid the $35 ticket fee in order to go. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Myers.

Please wear comfortable clothing. It will be warm and you want to make sure you stay cool. Please wear shorts and t-shirts. Sunglasses and a hat would also be a good idea. Please bring money for dinner. We will be eating at Mooyah Burger in Allen. Estimated cost will be around $10. It’s a good idea to bring extra money for drinks in the stadium. It will be hot and you may want water or Gatorade during the show. You may also bring your own water. You may also want to bring money for souvenirs. There will be many souvenir shops surrounding the stadium selling t-shirts and other items from some of your favorite corps.

DCI Comes to Dallas, TX

For two nights drum corps from across the nation will be descending upon the Dallas / Ft. Worth area to compete in a two day competition on July 22 and July 23. Some of the best color guards from around the country will be performing at Lake Highlands High School. Dont miss this one year event! Tickets are on sale at www.dci.org/tickets. Scroll down to find the two Dallas dates. I highly recommend the July 22 show. The corps on the 22nd include the Blue Devils, The Cadets, and The Cavaliers. See for yourself what Drum Corps is all about! Check out the 2006 Cavaliers show – “Machine,” or one of my personal favorites, the 2002 Cavaliers – “Frameworks.” One of the coolest shows ever written for the marching field! For more information on DCI, go to www.dci.org!

McKinney Boyd Guard Medals At Championships

For the second year in a row, the McKinney Boyd High School Color Guard came home with a medal from  the NTCA State Winter Guard Championships! The Boyd guard finished third and was awarded the bronze medal in an extremely tough and very competitive Scholastic AA Class. The ladies of the guard put on an amazing performance and gave their heart and soul on the floor. Their energy and emotion only electrified the crowd that propelled the ladies on their way to their second straight medal! This medal is two classes higher than last year! The guard finished out the entire school year with over 8 top three finishes, 5 grand champion trophies, promotion in two classifications, and a bronze medal in the SAA class. The guard also never finished below 3rd place during the entire school year! Congratulations ladies on a great year! We are so proud of you!!
